You could say Windows of Light was over five years in the making. Nikkei Write Now! a coalition of eleven women began meeting in 2021 as a result of a virtual pilgrimage to incarceration camps. We attended a writing workshop virtually, over Zoom, and didn’t want the class to end.

We began meeting twice a month, and the rest is history. As a self-publisher, I experienced these incredible stories that were being presented by the evolving group of Nikkei (of Japanese descent) writers, and didn’t want the opportunity to pass. And Windows of Light was born.

Don’t worry, you can attend both events! The agendas are definitely different! Kick off your Balloon Fiesta weekend with three artists using three different mediums to do the same thing: tell compelling stories! Learn about painting a picture with words, how jewelry tells a story about time, place, people. And look through the gallery and see the stories the painters created.
