Detective Inspector Jack Robinson died of a broken heart February 14, 1948 after a prolonged separation from his true love, Miss Phryne Fisher, Lady Detective. Born at the end of the last century, Jack made his mark on the Melbourne City South Police Station with his unwavering leadership, chiseled chin, and smart three-piece suits. He had long been suspected of being the love interest of confirmed bachelorette, Fisher, and the coroner suspects Valentine’s Day alone was too much for him to bear.

Robinson is survived by his ex-wife Rosie Sanderson and former father-in-law and Police Chief George Sanderson.
